Description
The City of Galena is soliciting bids for repaving various streets and parking areas. The work includes milling and removing existing asphalt, placing hot-mix asphalt leveling binder and surface courses, full-depth asphalt pavement in designated areas, tack coating, aggregate base repair, traffic control, turf restoration, erosion control, and related pavement restoration. The project also includes adjusting manhole covers and water valve boxes, coordinating with utilities and property owners, performing required quality-control testing, and complying with Illinois prevailing-wage and Drug Free Workplace requirements. Bids are submitted on a total-sum basis, with specified alternate work for Fourth and Monroe Streets and Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe Streets. A 10% bid security is required; the successful contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds and required insurance.
