Description
The U.S. Coast Guard requires six consecutive weeks of rental equipment for blasting interior tank surfaces aboard CGC Eagle. The required equipment includes one 55,000 CFM Tier III, 174-horsepower diesel dust collector; one 1,800 CFM diesel air compressor with Chicago fittings, aftercooler, internal and external driers, filter package, three 3-inch-by-50-foot air hoses, and three bull-hose spud connectors; and one 160-cubic-foot blast pot with an 8-ton media capacity, 150-psi rating, cone bottom, four Thompson Valve II metering valves, electric remote controls, and skid- or highway-trailer mounting. The dust collector must also include four 300-foot, 20-inch duct hoses, a reverse pulse-jet system, auger system, pneumatic hopper vibrators, flexible discharge hose, drum cover, and two fuel tanks of at least 80 gallons each. The contractor is responsible for delivery, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of nonfunctioning equipment during the rental period. Equipment inspections and equipment-hour reports are required before delivery, and specified repair or replacement response times apply. The solicitation includes weekly extension options, with total extensions not to exceed six months. Quotes are evaluated on technical compliance, ability to meet deadlines, price, and responsibility-based past performance.
