Baltimore City Public Schools is issuing a Call for Proposals (CFP) for the redevelopment of the Southside/Dr. Carter G. Woodson site in the Cherry Hill neighborhood. The district seeks a development partner to construct a new 600-700 student high school on approximately 7.5 acres of the 20.74-acre site, including a 125,000 sq. ft. high school, a 217,800 sq. ft. playfield, and 43,560 sq. ft. for parking. In exchange for the commitment to build the high school, the selected developer will have the opportunity to engage with the community and develop the remainder of the site for mixed-use purposes. The project timeline includes a community engagement session on October 6, 2025, a follow-up panel review on October 31, a board introduction on November 12, and a board vote on January 14, 2026. The district is evaluating proposals based on quality of development concept, project feasibility, developer capacity and experience, benefits to the city and community, and economic and community inclusion.
