Description
The City of Seattle is soliciting bids for the East Marginal Way South Preservation project, a federally funded public-works construction project. The scope includes pavement overlay and spot base repairs; milling, excavation, asphalt and concrete paving; curb ramps and sidewalks; drainage; protected bike lane and shared-use path improvements; traffic signals, signal poles, conduit, and wiring; street lighting; signing, striping, landscaping, traffic control, and related utility and railroad coordination. The project also includes rebar installation and electrical work for subcontractor-list purposes. The engineer’s estimate is $10,800,000. Bidders must submit the required bid forms, a bid guarantee equal to 5% of the maximum bid amount, a bidder/subcontractor list, a bidder questionnaire for firms that submitted bids or quotes, and a recycled-materials proposal. The project has a 13% Federal Small Business Enterprise goal and requires compliance with applicable federal-aid requirements, including Buy America provisions. The contract requires physical completion within 250 working days after the Notice to Proceed.
