Description
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from construction firms for improvements to the light rail vehicle wash system at Building F of the Guadalupe Division. The work includes removing and replacing the existing system with a hybrid drive-through and gantry wash system featuring programmable controls, detailed and quick wash modes, water reclamation and filtration, trench and sump drainage, a wash-bay canopy with lighting, and associated civil/trackwork, electrical, plumbing, industrial equipment, and structural work. Construction will occur in an active light rail operating environment and requires coordination with VTA operations and compliance with light rail safety procedures. The estimated construction cost is $4.5 million to $5.5 million. This is a pre-qualification stage; only firms approved through the process will be invited to submit sealed bids for the subsequent IFB. Each joint-venture member must be separately pre-qualified. The pre-qualification package requires a completed questionnaire and qualification statements, supporting financial and bonding information, recent construction-project experience, and the Statement of Qualification Certification Form.
