Description
The project requires removal and disposal of an existing water-control structure, hyacinth fence, and marine barrier, followed by construction of an earthen berm using in-situ borrow material. Work includes mobilization and demobilization, construction surveys, clearing and grubbing, removal of culverts, gates, piles, fencing, barriers, and other obstructions, earthwork, environmental protection, navigation coordination, and related marine activities. Additive Alternate No. 1 provides for approximately 1,225 square yards of flexible revetment over geotextile fabric, using either 55-pound riprap at 18 inches thick or an articulated concrete block mat. The base bid has a 90-calendar-day completion period beginning on the date specified in the written Notice to Proceed. Bidders must be properly licensed for Heavy Construction or Dredging and/or Coastal Restoration & Habitat Enhancement. The solicitation requires a 5% bid security and, for the successful bidder, a performance and payment bond equal to 100% of the contract amount.
