Description
Delaware County is soliciting bids for an Alteration Level II renovation of an existing two-story commercial warehouse. The work includes furnishing and installing one 5,000-pound, 150-fpm, three-landing service elevator with two front openings and one rear opening; constructing the elevator shaft, pit, foundation, sump, masonry walls, structural steel, roof pop-up, doors, controls, electrical connections, lighting, ventilation, and related finishes. The basis of design is a KONE MonoSpace 500 DX elevator, with Otis and Schindler systems identified as acceptable manufacturers subject to the specifications. The project also requires removal of the existing two-story freight lift and associated equipment, demolition and reconstruction of portions of the first- and second-floor slabs and roof, exterior window repairs or an alternate full window-system replacement, interior wall and floor repairs, mechanical and plumbing modifications, fire-sprinkler reconfiguration, temporary partitions and access facilities, and coordination with the occupied warehouse. Bidders must address prevailing-wage, public-works diversity, affirmative-action, apprenticeship, background-check, safety, insurance, bonding, and contractor-responsibility requirements.
