Description
The City of Des Moines seeks a contractor to collect trash from containers in the Beaverdale, Roosevelt/42nd Street, and 6th Avenue commercial districts. Work includes twice-weekly service in Beaverdale and Roosevelt, and collection at 21 locations in the 6th Avenue district on the frequencies specified for each location. The contractor must supply replacement bags for the Beaverdale containers, replace bags in Roosevelt containers, and empty liners in the 6th Avenue containers, notifying the City when liners need replacement. Bidders must also provide a per-collection price for additional pickups. Overage fees are not allowed. The initial contract term is three years, with up to three additional one-year extensions at the City's discretion. Quotes are submitted through the electronic bidding system. Insurance is required before purchase order issuance or commencement of work, as specified in the insurance attachment.
