Description
The City of Joliet is soliciting a contractor to complete landscape removals and public-space improvements along the north side of the 300 block of Western Avenue, including the Western Avenue and Hickory Street corner and the central seating and holiday tree area. The scope includes removing trees, flagpoles, groundcover, and lawn; cleaning retaining walls; furnishing and installing a post-mounted sign; installing shrubs, groundcover, sod, mulch, log steppers, habitat houses, and precast concrete seating; and providing associated excavation, aggregate bases, concrete pads and footings, site protection, traffic and pedestrian controls, cleanup, restoration, permits, and utility coordination. The contractor must provide shop drawings, product data, planting plans, samples, installation and lifting plans, schedules, site logistics, warranties, maintenance information, and other closeout documentation. The bid scope identifies basis-of-design products including Columbia Cascade log steppers, Vestre Habitats Wings, and Wausau Tile concrete furnishings. The bid package states that the bidder must provide a proposed calendar duration from Notice to Proceed; the Notice to Proceed date will be established by the City.
