Description
Nassau Community College is seeking a qualified contractor to provide on-call auto body repair and towing services for the college's fleet. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, transportation, and parts necessary to restore vehicles to optimal operating condition. Services include, but are not limited to, bodywork, welding, sanding, painting, and dent pulling. Towing services will be provided on a 24/7 basis, with a response time of sixty minutes for service requests. The contractor must own or have exclusive access to sufficient towing equipment and employ licensed estimators, supervisors, and experienced technicians. All work must comply with federal, state, and local laws, including EPA and NYSDEC regulations. The contractor must also provide a written estimate for all work to be performed within two business days of vehicle arrival at their shop, and all estimates must be approved in writing by the College before work commences. OEM parts are required unless otherwise approved in writing by the College. Labor is guaranteed for one year, parts for a minimum of ninety days or manufacturer's warranty, and paint/corrosion protection for three years. The contract will be for five years, with pricing firm for the first year and potential for annual increases thereafter based on certified labor contracts or verifiable material cost increases.
