Description
Kern High School District is soliciting a lump-sum construction bid to demolish the existing baseball scoreboard at East Bakersfield High School and install a district-provided Daktronics BA-2518 scoreboard with an advertising panel. The scope includes removal of the existing scoreboard and support columns, removal of below-grade footings, new concrete pier foundations and painted steel support columns, scoreboard installation, underground conduits, conductors, pull boxes, grounding, power and control connections, weatherproof receptacles and disconnects, testing, commissioning, startup, and final acceptance. The contractor must also coordinate with the scoreboard manufacturer, protect the existing track and field, restore disturbed turf and landscaping, and provide required demonstrations and training. The estimated bid value is $120,000, with a 39-calendar-day completion period and liquidated damages of $2,000 per calendar day. A California contractor's license in classifications B, C-8, C-10, C-12, or C-51 is required. The bid requires 10% bid security, a 100% payment bond, and a 100% performance bond. The project includes California prevailing-wage and Department of Industrial Relations registration requirements, fingerprinting compliance, DVBE participation or good-faith-effort requirements, and extensive bid certifications and forms.
