Description
The State of Oklahoma is soliciting a general contractor for the replacement of three boilers, three chillers, and the cooling tower serving the Oklahoma History Center central plant. The base bid includes demolition and new work for Chillers 1 and 3, Boilers 2 and 3, and the cooling tower, including associated mechanical, plumbing, electrical, controls, vent-stack, temporary cooling-tower, and commissioning work. The contractor must coordinate boiler downtime, maintain operations in adjacent occupied areas, and include a 5% design and construction contingency in the base bid. Four alternates are requested: demolition of Chiller 2; demolition of Boiler 1; heat trace for cooling-tower valve-pit piping and valves; and rehabilitation of the cooling-tower concrete basin, including cleaning, repair, surface preparation, and waterproof coating. The project is a single-prime stipulated-sum construction contract with an estimated cost of $2,800,000 and an anticipated duration of no more than 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed/Work Order. A completed contractor qualification statement, bid form, bid security, work schedule, and phasing plan are required with the bid.
