Description
Augusta University is soliciting a contractor to convert an existing 956-square-foot classroom in University Hall into an animation lab. The lump-sum Design-Bid-Build construction scope includes selective demolition, architectural finishes, cold-formed metal framing, rough carpentry and blocking, acoustical and sound-attenuating assemblies, flooring, ceilings, painting, doors and hardware, signage, and related construction safeguards. The work also includes modifications to existing HVAC, hydronic heating, electrical power and lighting, data/voice cabling infrastructure, access controls, fire alarm devices, and the wet-pipe fire sprinkler system. The contractor must coordinate the trades, maintain occupied adjacent areas and required egress, provide temporary protections and dust control, obtain permits and inspections, submit required shop drawings and product information, and complete testing, commissioning, record documents, warranties, and closeout materials. The bid requires a bid bond of at least 5 percent, with payment and performance bonds each equal to 100 percent of the Contract Sum before contract execution.
