Description
The Washington State Department of Transportation is procuring a design-build contract for a Bus Rapid Transit station on SR 518 connecting an existing light rail station with communities to the south. Scope 1 includes roadway modifications, new bus-only lanes, a pedestrian bridge, and related transit facilities. Scope 2 includes construction of a fish barrier correction structure under SR 518. The project is federally funded in part and includes Federal Transit Administration requirements, on-the-job training hours, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation goals, which are to be determined or may change. The estimated total contract value is $125 million to $165 million, with approximate values of $100 million to $130 million for Scope 1 and $25 million to $35 million for Scope 2. The procurement is planned as a design-build contract.
