Description
Brookhaven Science Associates intends to compete a requirement for a cryogenic permanent magnet undulator for the High Resolution Powder Diffraction beamline at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The contractor will be responsible for the complete design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of the CPMU, including magnet blocks and poles, mechanical and electrical systems, cryogenic cooling, controls, tooling, fixtures, test equipment, spare parts, packaging, rigging, and related documentation. The work includes conceptual, preliminary, and final design reviews; magnetic, mechanical, thermal, structural, vibration, and finite-element analyses; acceptance testing at the contractor’s facility; delivery to Brookhaven; site acceptance; quality assurance compliant with ISO 9001 and applicable Brookhaven requirements; and extensive end-item documentation, software, drawings, models, test data, certificates, and operating procedures. The notice is a pre-solicitation and not an active solicitation; no quote or proposal is currently requested. The anticipated delivery date is 24 months after contract award, and the anticipated contract type is firm-fixed price.
