NASA's Technology Transfer Program is soliciting inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market the Lunar Experiment Support System and Handling (LESSH) Battery Charger Module (BCM). This technology, developed at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, is an EVA-compatible battery charger designed to provide wired charging and data transfer for instruments on the lunar surface. The BCM supports charging of 28V astronaut-rated batteries with a power output of 215W, includes a battery pre-heater, and features a 4-hour charge time with adjustable parameters. It is ruggedized for harsh environments and supports 1000BASE-T Ethernet pass-through. The technology is at TRL 4 and is available for patent licensing. Interested parties must submit a license application through NASA's ATLAS system. No funding is provided, and no follow-on procurement is expected.
