Description
The City of Charlotte is soliciting bids for renovation of the second floor of its Police and Fire Training Academy to expand capacity at the facility's backup 911 call center and help maintain emergency response times as call volume grows. The project has an estimated cost between $0 and $2 million and a 90-calendar-day contract period from notice to proceed through completion. Liquidated damages are $900 per calendar day. Bidders must submit a Bid Form, Commercial Non-Discrimination Form, CBI Forms, and bid security through the electronic procurement portal. A 5% bid security is required for bids of $300,000 or more. Bidders must hold a North Carolina General Contractor License and be registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State. The project has an 11% SBE subcontracting goal. Project documents contain restricted data; access requires completing and submitting the Confidentiality Agreement before authorization to obtain the bidding documents. Performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the bid amount, and insurance are post-bid requirements.
