Description
The University of Connecticut is soliciting bids for a small/minority business general contractor to provide trade labor services for the renovation and refurbishment of university facilities under the Academic Renovations program. This program aims to provide rapid response for renovation and refurbishment tasks within a limited window of opportunity. Services may include labor for laboratories, libraries, academic and departmental offices, student recreation and dining facilities, classrooms, and lecture halls at the Storrs campus and regional campuses. The awarded contractor will provide skilled tradespersons, either in-house or through subcontractors, to perform tasks such as layout and framing of walls, wallboard installation, acoustical ceiling installations, doors and windows installation, laboratory casework installation, masonry, flooring preparation and installation, drywall finishing and painting, and MEP services. Projects will be issued on an as-needed basis via Individual Work Orders (IWOs), with trades expected on-site within two business days' notice. IWOs will be valued at less than $1,000,000, with an average completion duration of 8 weeks. The University will provide all materials required to complete the work.
