Description
East Hartford Public Schools seeks a qualified general contractor for a turnkey project replacing exterior doors at a middle school. Work includes removing and replacing existing doors, frames, transoms, and associated hardware, with related patching, painting, security-device coordination, and installation of specified glazing and door components. Bidders must provide fixed-price options for two work-hour schedules and follow the construction drawings and specifications. The contractor is responsible for coordinating work in an occupied school, maintaining safe access, and completing the project by June 18, 2027. The bid package must include company information and history, three examples of similar completed projects with references, pricing using Appendix A, required submittal forms, and any issued addendum acknowledgments. A 10% bid bond is required with the bid; payment and performance bonds are due before work begins. The lowest-cost qualified, responsive, and responsible contractor will be selected, subject to available funding.
