Description
Delaware State University is soliciting bids from general contractors for Phase 1 restoration of the historic Hope House on its Downtown Campus. The work includes selective demolition and salvage; historic masonry cleaning, repair, replacement, and repointing; conservation treatment and replacement of period wood components; rough and finish carpentry; roof preparation and installation of synthetic shingles, asphalt shingles, and TPO membrane roofing; thermal insulation; wood siding; sheet-metal flashing and trim; gutters and downspouts; joint sealants; and exterior painting. The project is a single-prime, stipulated-price construction contract. Bidders must submit the completed bid form, bid security equal to at least 10% of the bid plus additive alternates, subcontractor list, non-collusion statement, drug-testing affidavit, craft-training compliance affidavit, Delaware business license, construction schedule in Gantt-chart format, and site-superintendent resume. The successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds and required insurance after award. Prevailing-wage requirements apply, and only general contractors may submit bids.
