Description
The City of Fulton is seeking proposals from qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firms to provide comprehensive historical cleanup of their financial records, reconcile banking and ledger accounts, and establish a foundation for accurate financial reporting. This service is in preparation for the filing of the City's Annual Financial Report (AFR). The scope of work includes reviewing and adjusting journal entries for 2022 and 2023, officially closing out the 2023 fiscal year, and performing historical records cleanup for the 2024 and 2025 fiscal years. The selected firm will also be responsible for complete bank and general ledger reconciliations, identifying and correcting miscategorized expenses, and reviewing capital projects to establish appropriate records. Assistance with creating a balance sheet report for the Common Council and training to ensure continued accurate financial management upon completion of the contract are also required. Proposals should include a firm overview, proposed methodology, and a pricing structure (flat-fee or time-and-materials with hourly rates). The City intends to select a provider based on professional reputation, pricing, experience with similar projects, and the quality of the proposal. The City of Fulton is exempt from all sales and use taxes.
