This project involves the renovation of Classroom 154 within Baker Laboratory. The scope of work includes the installation of new partitions, acoustical ceilings, carpet tiles, and painting. Additionally, there will be modifications to the existing ceiling light strips, reworking of raised access flooring floor boxes to accommodate a new classroom orientation, and minor HVAC modifications. The project also encompasses upgrades to the electrical, fire protection, and data communication systems. The contractor will be responsible for all demolition, installation, and coordination with existing building systems to ensure minimal disruption. All work must comply with relevant codes and standards, and must be completed before the start of classes in January 2027. The renovation includes significant electrical work, such as the installation of new lighting fixtures, occupancy sensors, and data outlets, as well as the relocation and extension of existing circuits. Fire protection system upgrades involve modifications to the sprinkler system, including hydraulic design calculations and compliance with NFPA standards. Mechanical work includes modifications to HVAC systems, ductwork, and temperature controls, ensuring proper air balancing and sealing of penetrations. This project also includes provisions for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) with a goal of 6.00%, and Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) with goals of 15.00% for both MBE and WBE. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals are set at 0.00%.
