Description
The City of Montebello and Montebello Bus Lines are soliciting proposals from California-licensed contractors to provide as-needed auto body repair and painting services for City-owned vehicles and equipment. The scope includes collision and body repairs, dent removal, component and glass replacement, frame and structural repairs, vehicle painting and refinishing, wheel alignment, airbag replacement, written estimates, warranty support, and the use of new OEM replacement parts where required. The contractor must provide pickup, delivery, and towing services and return completed vehicles to the Transportation Department within 24 hours of repair completion. Work must generally be performed at the contractor’s fully operational repair facility, which must accommodate up to three 40-foot buses, maintain a compliant paint booth and secure vehicle storage, and possess specified welding equipment. Proposals must address project management, personnel qualifications, relevant experience, technical approach, pricing, licensing, references, insurance, subcontractors, federal transit requirements, and required certifications. The proposed term is three years with two additional one-year extension options. The City estimates approximately $75,000 in annual expenditures, without guaranteeing any quantity of work.
