Description
The U.S. Geological Survey is offering a cooperative agreement to an eligible participating partner of the Southern Appalachian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit. The project will identify invasive vine species likely to spread over the coming decades, assess areas at risk in the Southeast Climate Adaptation Science Center region based on recent disturbances, and synthesize plant-trait information from floras, the World Checklist of Vascular Plants, and peer-reviewed literature. The recipient will develop a regional database covering species status, traits, and disturbance locations; produce future-spread maps for species present or not yet detected in the region; synthesize management strategies; and engage resource managers and other partners. The application must include a technical narrative, budget narrative, Data Management Plan, biographical sketches for senior/key personnel, current and pending support disclosures, and a one-page Project Abstract Summary. Geospatial data must use open formats and include complete feature-level metadata where applicable. One award is anticipated for a two-year budget period with estimated funding of $330,000.
