Description
The City’s Electric Department seeks a contractor to perform tree trimming, vegetation clearing, and tree removal along electric distribution lines, utility rights-of-way, and roadways. The contractor must provide supervision, labor, equipment, traffic control, debris removal, and related incidentals. Work is directed by the Electric Department Superintendent, and no more than three crews may work at a time. Proposals must include at least three professional references for similar right-of-way clearing work performed within the last 24 months, a summary of relevant experience and qualifications with examples of similar work, and an inventory of owned or leased equipment. The contractor must have at least three years of tree-trimming business experience. The contract is for two years, with two optional one-year extensions by mutual agreement. The successful contractor must provide specified liability and workers’ compensation insurance and hold current City of Nicholasville and business licenses. Work may not be transferred or subcontracted.
