Description
James City County is seeking a contractor for the Landing Circle Stream Restoration Project. The work will stabilize unnamed tributaries to Taskinas Creek using Priority 2 and Priority 3 restoration techniques, reconnect channels to historic flood-prone areas and floodplains, and improve channel width-to-depth ratios using natural channel design principles. The project includes installing small wood debris structures, in-channel grade-control structures, and enhanced reinforcement substrate to reduce erosion, retain sediment, dissipate energy, improve aquatic habitat, and support benthic macroinvertebrates. Disturbed areas must be planted with suitable native vegetation to provide long-term stabilization, water-quality benefits, and habitat improvements supporting James City County's MS4 requirements and downstream Chesapeake Bay water-quality goals.
