Description
The Chicago Transit Authority is soliciting non-negotiable bids for tank cleaning and fuel polishing services under Specification CTA 2466-26. The contractor will service underground and above-ground storage tanks throughout the Chicago metropolitan area, ranging from 200 to 25,000 gallons, and polish diesel fuel to remove microorganisms, sludge, particulate matter, and water. Services include labor, tools, equipment, approved cleaning agents, fuel transfer and reclamation, tank access and reassembly, testing, waste-container provision, and transportation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The contractor must have at least five years of experience cleaning hazardous and special waste from storage tanks and provide three references for similar services performed within the last two years. The contractor must respond within 48 hours after CTA notification, comply with applicable safety and environmental requirements, provide a Safety Process Plan and Safety Data Sheets, and maintain a 30-day warranty against microbial or biological recurrence. The anticipated expenditure is $200,000 for up to 36 months, with periodic releases issued under a blanket contract; award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
