Description
The City of Albany is soliciting sealed bids for all work required for a natural gas pipeline construction project. The project includes replacing an existing 8-inch high-pressure plug valve with a new 8-inch welded ball valve at N. Westover Boulevard and Gillionville Road, along with hot tapping and stopping operations, installation of fittings and appurtenances, fabrication and welding, pressure and leak testing, coating or wrapping of exposed steel piping, backfilling, compaction, and roadway restoration. The City will furnish major pipeline materials; the contractor must provide remaining materials, consumables, and equipment. Addendum 3 states that the operating pressure is 150 and that nitrogen will more than likely be used. Addendum 3 changes the contract term from one calendar year with no renewal options to 90 days from notice to proceed. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum on the Bid Form when submitting their bids. The solicitation requires experience in high-pressure natural gas pipeline construction and valve replacement, qualified pipeline-welding personnel, and the previously identified bid, payment, and performance bonds and insurance coverage.
