Description
Albany State University is seeking one or more qualified direct motor carriers to provide comprehensive charter bus and transportation services for campus groups, athletic teams, student organizations, and administrative departments. The scope may include supplemental fixed-route and shuttle services between the University's East and West campuses, as well as future charters to various destinations. Required vehicles include double-decker coaches, 56-passenger coaches, passenger coaches, and mini-buses, with pricing for mileage, daily rates, fuel surcharges, relay drivers, and other disclosed fees submitted exclusively on the designated cost worksheet. The contractor must have at least five consecutive years of relevant operating experience, maintain required Georgia and interstate operating authority, comply with United States Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements, and maintain a satisfactory safety rating. Services require qualified commercial drivers, compliant and well-maintained vehicles, luggage capacity, restrooms, onboard media and communication systems, route planning, emergency response procedures, and replacement transportation when necessary. Brokerage is prohibited, and subcontracting requires prior written approval. The initial service term is anticipated to run from November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2027, with up to four additional one-year renewal periods.
