Description
The Department of the Interior’s United States Wildland Fire Service seeks one contractor-operated and maintained Type 2 medium helicopter for exclusive-use flight services supporting natural resource and fire missions. The contractor must provide the aircraft, qualified primary and relief crew, maintenance, and associated equipment. Missions include fire suppression, monitoring, initial attack, prescribed fire, aerial ignition, limited non-threatening law-enforcement surveillance and reconnaissance, and other administrative and resource activities. The aircraft must meet detailed seating, payload, equipment, avionics, safety, and operational requirements, including water/retardant buckets and external-load capability. The designated base is Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska, but the aircraft may be dispatched elsewhere in Alaska or the contiguous United States. The solicitation is a five-year IDIQ with annual 90-day exclusive-use periods and an option to extend services for up to six months. Proposals must include pricing, aircraft and pilot qualifications, organizational safety materials, and past-performance information.
