Description
The City of Canton seeks bids for a general construction contract to install a new roundabout and complete associated street improvements. The work includes sidewalks, curb ramps, curbs, streetscape elements, storm drainage structures and conduits, pavement and roadway work, lighting and electrical conduits, traffic signs and pavement markings, erosion control, and landscaping. The plans and bid schedule specify quantities for the work, including concrete walks, asphalt and concrete pavement, drainage structures, lighting infrastructure, signs, and plantings. Bidders must submit the furnished Bid Form and required bid guaranty, along with a Contractor’s Qualification Statement, a list of subcontracted work categories, DBE participation information, and a Project Labor Agreement Letter of Assent. A bid bond for the full bid amount or a check, cashier’s check, or irrevocable letter of credit equal to 10% of the bid is required; a successful bidder providing the latter must furnish a 100% contract bond. The estimated base construction cost is $1,677,641.75. The project has a 120-calendar-day period to substantial completion from commencement, and prevailing-wage requirements apply.
