Description
Franklin County is seeking an agricultural operator to lease approximately 79.3 acres across six tracts for cropland uses such as row crops and hay. The lessee must protect the property’s nutrient bank, mitigation bank, conservation easements, streams, wetlands, and related infrastructure; comply with restrictions on land disturbance and chemical use; and use appropriate erosion, sediment, nutrient-management, and runoff-prevention practices. Biosolids are prohibited, and manure application requires prior approval and applicable permits. Offers are evaluated on proposed rent, conservation and stewardship plans, agricultural experience and references, financial capacity, proposed improvements, and ability to maintain the property and insurance. The lease term is one year, with up to four additional one-year terms. Proposals must include the proposed rent and payment plan, fields to be used, conservation and operating plans, experience and references, and a certificate of liability insurance or preliminary evidence of coverage.
