Description
Palmer Township is soliciting bids for 2026 tub grinding services at its Berks Street Yard Waste Facility. The contractor must furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, fuel, materials, mobilization, demobilization, and related costs to process accumulated yard waste into mulch through first- and second-pass grinding, stockpile the finished material, and account for an additional 200 cubic yards of yard waste expected after the bid-preparation date. The base work requires an 8-foot, 750-horsepower tub grinder, tracked front-end loader, and hydraulic excavator with grapple, with specified screen sizes for uniform secondary grinding. An alternate bid covers first- and second-pass grinding of tree trunks greater than 12 inches in diameter. Work must be completed within 30 days after award and performed during the stated operating hours. Bidders must have at least four years of tub-grinding experience and submit experience references, a notarized non-collusion affidavit, and pricing through the designated online bidding program. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation, general liability, automobile liability, contractual hold-harmless coverage, and excess or umbrella liability; a bid bond is not required.
