Description
Portland State University is seeking a general contractor for the remodel and relocation of Speech and Hearing Sciences into approximately 13,335 square feet on the fourth floor of the Richard and Maurine Neuberger Center. The work converts open-office space into enclosed administrative, academic, research, and clinical environments, including offices, dry research laboratories, classrooms, reception and waiting areas, specialized viewing rooms, restrooms, student study areas, a kitchenette, and sink alcoves. The scope includes selective demolition; asbestos- and lead-related abatement and disposal; acoustic partitions and sound-attenuation assemblies; flooring, ceilings, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and casework; structural supports and seismic bracing; HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, audiovisual infrastructure, and plumbing. Proposers must submit a project schedule, site logistics and safety plan, firm and key-personnel qualifications, sustainability and equity/diversity information, references, and a completed bid form with base pricing and five alternates. The project requires a mandatory in-person site walk, performance and payment bonds equal to the full contract amount, and specified insurance coverage.
