The National Institutes of Health intends to award a noncompetitive purchase order to Purdue University for Year 1 medicinal chemistry work supporting a study of red cell-specific spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) inhibitors for sickle cell disease. The work includes synthesis, scale-up, and characterization of lead inhibitors S1115 and S1213 for subsequent biological evaluation by NIH investigators.
