Description
Brunswick County is seeking a single-prime contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals for construction of the Ocean Ridge Reclaimed Waterline. The base bid includes approximately 7,250 linear feet of 16-inch reclaimed waterline, appurtenances, jack-and-bore work, horizontal directional drilling, erosion control, clearing and grading, connections to existing reclaimed waterlines, testing, and restoration. Alternate Bid No. 1 adds approximately 650 linear feet of 8-inch reclaimed waterline with similar associated work. Alternate Bid No. 2 adds approximately 3,500 linear feet of 2-inch PVC conduit, junction boxes or pull boxes, telemetry equipment, and a new flow meter for communication with a pump station. The project has a 365-consecutive-day completion period beginning from the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must use the provided Form of Proposal and include bid security equal to at least 5 percent of the bid. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100 percent of the contract price, are required after award. The contractor must hold the required North Carolina public-utilities general-contractor license, perform at least 50 percent of the contract with its own personnel and equipment, and comply with specified insurance, permitting, testing, erosion-control, and reclaimed-water infrastructure requirements.
