Description
The City of Georgetown is soliciting bids from licensed general contractors to furnish and install a prefabricated metal-framed equipment and vehicle shed at the Water Department yard. The project is a design-build effort: the contractor must hire an engineer to design the concrete foundation base in coordination with the metal building manufacturer's design engineer. Addendum 1 clarifies that the City prefers Building Direct but will consider other vendors whose buildings meet the same specifications. No geotechnical report is available; the contractor must comply with local building codes and verify minimum compaction through a soil compaction test performed by a reputable third-party inspection firm. The existing scope includes site coordination, permitting, stamped engineering plans, surveying, shop drawings and submittals, grading and excavation, a reinforced concrete slab, delivery and assembly of the prefabricated structure, and installation of doors and roll-up doors. Bidders must visit the site before submitting a bid.
