Ashe County Board of Education is seeking a North Carolina-licensed general contractor to provide design-build architectural, engineering, and construction services for an approximately 936-square-foot pre-engineered metal storage building and associated field-access improvements at Ashe County Middle School. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, permits, testing, inspections, coordination, and incidental work required for a complete, operational project. The scope includes site preparation, foundations, a reinforced concrete slab, drainage, a commercial metal building with a minimum 14-foot eave height, a 14-foot-by-12-foot coiling overhead door, a personnel door, accessibility improvements, electrical service and lighting, interior floor finishes, and approximately 780 square yards of access-area improvements involving unsuitable-soil removal, geotextile stabilization, aggregate placement, grading, drainage, erosion controls, and restoration. The contractor must provide engineering, sealed design documents where required, shop drawings, product data, construction scheduling, inspections, closeout documentation, and compliance with applicable building, fire, electrical, accessibility, OSHA, FEMA, and school-construction requirements. Field access work is anticipated to begin in mid-March 2027, and the entire project must be completed no later than June 30, 2027.
