Description
The State of North Carolina, through the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Division 13, is soliciting a single-prime general contractor to construct a new 2,520-square-foot wood-frame maintenance office at 30 Bakers Creek Road in Burnsville. The lump-sum work includes limited site work, sidewalks, utilities to five feet outside the building, slab construction, finished shell, flooring, ceiling systems, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical construction. Interior walls will be provided under a separate prime contract using a pre-engineered demountable wall system, with the general contractor coordinating that work. Bidders must hold the required North Carolina Building Contractor license classification, either Unlimited or Intermediate. A bid security of five percent is required, and the successful contractor must provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100 percent of the contract price. Bids must be sealed and delivered or mailed to the Division 13 office before the November 10, 2026, opening; emailed bids will not be accepted. Attendance at the October 27, 2026, pre-bid meeting is mandatory, and receipt of all addenda must be acknowledged on the bid form.
