Description
The City is soliciting a qualified construction contractor to build a new, fully operational fire station in accordance with completed architectural plans, drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and City requirements. The work includes labor, supervision, materials, equipment, site preparation, building construction, utilities, and coordination of required testing and inspections. The project documents also specify fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, security, and other building systems, with some equipment furnished by the City for contractor installation or connection as directed by the contract documents. Bidders must submit a completed bid form and qualifications statement, a signed City contracting certification, proof of insurance, and a copy of an Arkansas contractor license. A five-percent bid security is required for bids of $50,000 or more; the solicitation also requires a cashier’s check or corporate bid bond as specified. The award is on an all-or-none basis to the lowest qualified bidder meeting the requirements. The successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds and required insurance, licenses, permits, and other documents before work begins. The contractor must commence work within ten calendar days after receiving the written Notice to Proceed and complete the project within the approved construction duration.
