Description
The District seeks a qualified structural steel fabrication inspection firm to provide quality assurance inspection and testing during fabrication and assembly of custom stainless-steel energy dissipation devices (EDDs), including Duplex and 17-4 PH stainless steel components. Services include shop inspections, welding and nondestructive testing, coating and materials testing, review of fabrication quality-control plans and related submittals, material tracking, and daily and weekly inspection and progress reports. The consultant will also prepare quality assurance inspection work plans and provide contract administration support. The work is expected to cover fabrication of 28 EDDs over an estimated 37 months. The fabrication shop is in the Birmingham, Alabama area. The initial submission is a statement of qualifications and proposal; cost proposals and specified security-related documents are requested later from proposers invited to interviews.
