Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs anticipates a firm-fixed-price construction project to remodel interior areas at the Roseburg Healthcare System. Work includes preparing and painting approximately 14,000 square feet of walls, painting corridor door trim, replacing or converting ceiling grid systems and installing approximately 12,381 square feet of new 2-by-2 ceiling tiles, replacing approximately 4,200 square feet of carpet and flooring, installing new six-inch vinyl wall base, and remodeling restrooms with sinks, toilets, piping, and tiling. Existing items must be protected and reinstalled, and painted murals must not be disturbed. The project also includes asbestos flooring abatement on the fifth floor, correction of tripping-hazard transitions, Level III ICRA containment, and possible temporary furniture relocation. Work is to occur during evenings and weekends, with weekday work hours from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; weekends and federal holidays have no hourly restrictions. The anticipated award is one best-value, firm-fixed-price construction contract with a magnitude between $500,000 and $1,000,000. A payment bond, performance bond, and bid guarantee are required, and the project is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.
