Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is soliciting bids for the South Nanty Glo 2 abandoned mine reclamation project, involving two sites: backfilling a dangerous highwall at the Nanty Glo site in Cambria County and reclaiming a refuse pile at the Export site in Westmoreland County. The work includes mobilization, office facilities, erosion and sediment pollution controls, clearing and grubbing, grading and ripping, drainage systems, channel excavation, erosion matting, stilling basins, access road construction and maintenance, construction surveying, tree planting, grass seeding, mulching, and site restoration. The contractor must excavate, haul, place, and grade approximately 44,073 cubic yards of coal refuse and coordinate the supply, delivery, blending, and placement of approximately 24,628 tons of coal ash. The project has an estimated value of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 and a 720-calendar-day term. The solicitation requires electronic submission through Bid Express, an electronic bid bond verification number through SurePath Bonding, and compliance with Davis-Bacon, Buy America, worker-protection, environmental, and other federal and Pennsylvania requirements. The Worker Protection and Investment Certification Form and other identified bid forms must be submitted with the bid.
