Description
The Bureau of Reclamation is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor to modify the Ridges Basin Dam outlet-works jet-flow gate hydraulic system. The work includes isolating the hydraulic power unit and cylinder; draining, containing, and disposing of approximately ten gallons of existing hydraulic fluid; removing portions of two 1.5-inch Schedule 80 steel pipes; welding four adapter fittings; installing two 1.5-inch hydraulic hoses and supports; coating steel piping; supplying one fully assembled spare hose; and providing all labor, materials, equipment, mobilization, and demobilization. The contractor must design the hose layout to permit approximately 12 inches of gate-cylinder movement without disconnecting the hydraulic system, then clean, refill, bleed, and test the system using filtered ISO VG-46 biodegradable hydraulic fluid. Components must be rated for at least 3,000 psi, and the installation must pass three full gate cycles without leaks during testing or for 120 minutes afterward. The solicitation requires a cover sheet, a technical proposal of no more than 10 single-sided pages, past-performance information for up to three similar projects completed within five years, and a completed price schedule. A safety plan and manufacturer product data are required after award or before construction as specified in the Performance Work Statement.
