Description
The Defense Threat Reduction Agency intends to award a firm-fixed-price sole-source contract for one functional prototype robotic system. The applied research and development effort includes designing, engineering, integrating, and delivering a system capable of autonomously navigating hazardous environments and creating a real-time three-dimensional hazardous-atmosphere map. The contractor must fuse data from a government-furnished multi-gas chemical detector with a contractor-provided commercial quadrupedal robotic platform, survey-grade 3D LiDAR, and tactical mesh-networking radio into a unified operational picture. The notice identifies proprietary, pre-existing software data-fusion capability as the basis for the sole-source approach and requests capability statements from other responsible sources that can provide clear and convincing evidence of equivalent capability.
