Description
The Colorado Department of Corrections is soliciting bids for full construction contracting services for improvements to the dementia unit at San Carlos Correctional Facility. The project includes renovations to seven existing cells and exterior improvements to the facility's outdoor recreation areas, including the area serving the designated unit. The scope includes widening cell doors, reconfiguring cells to accommodate hospital beds, installing accessible combination units and an accessible shower unit, and creating a laundry room with storage. The estimated project cost is $790,000. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid conference and site tour, demonstrate experience on at least two similar projects exceeding $750,000 in hard costs, provide evidence of $750,000 bonding capacity, and comply with applicable Colorado labor, prevailing-wage, apprenticeship, and public-construction requirements. The project must be completed by April 15, 2027.
