Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business construction contractor for a firm-fixed-price renovation of the Ambassador Suite and Main Lobby in Building 1. Work includes selective demolition; accessibility improvements and a new ramp; new vestibules with automatic sliding and swinging doors; structural, architectural, finish, casework, glazing, roofing and skylight-related work; HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire suppression, and fire alarm modifications; utility work; and infection-control measures required for construction in an occupied medical facility. The contractor must provide supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, testing, site investigations, phasing, temporary barriers, and coordination needed to maintain patient care and facility operations. The project is a 100% SDVOSB set-aside under NAICS 236220, with an estimated magnitude of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Award will use a lowest-price technically acceptable process. The prime contractor must comply with the applicable limitations on subcontracting, including the revised self-performed/subcontracted-work calculation, and submit technical construction experience, relevant past performance, key-personnel qualifications, a safety plan, pricing, required certifications, and bonding documentation. The work has a 330-calendar-day performance period after notice to proceed, and the facility will remain operational during phased construction.
