Description
The City of Rockford Water Division is soliciting bids for rehabilitation of its existing Well 6 reservoir. The work includes removing and replacing structural beams and a chamber-dividing wall, replacing distribution piping and aerator nozzles, replacing ladder rungs, installing ventilation piping and chamber openings, cleaning and removing sediment and deposits, disinfecting the reservoir and piping, applying a new potable-water-compatible reservoir coating, and completing associated work. The project also includes interior and exterior ductile iron water-main work, connections to the existing 12-inch water main, reservoir wall penetration and modular link-seal installation, concrete and pavement restoration, and related supports, excavation, backfill, testing, and disposal. Bidders must comply with prevailing-wage requirements, applicable equal-employment and apprenticeship requirements, Buy America requirements for covered iron and steel products, and the specified insurance, bonding, and subcontracting provisions. The contract documents state 45 calendar days for substantial completion and 60 calendar days for completion and readiness for final payment.
