Description
The City of Champaign is seeking written quotations for on-call snow removal and deicer/salt application services for sidewalks adjacent to City-owned property. Work may be requested at the City's discretion when municipal snow-removal forces cannot clear specified sidewalks promptly after a snow event. Snow removal must cover the full sidewalk width, or 48 inches where sidewalks are wider, and must be completed within 12 hours after notice, subject to the stated subsequent-snow-event provisions. Contractors must plow, push, blow, or otherwise mechanically remove snow, place it on adjacent City-owned property rather than streets or alleys, and supply and apply salt or deicing material when slippery conditions exist. Pricing is required separately for six geographic groupings: the Downtown Business District, University District, Boneyard Creek Greenway, Preservation Pond, Second Street Reach, and Bristol Park. For each applicable location, the quote must include base snow-removal pricing for a two-inch event, incremental pricing for each additional two-inch accumulation, and deicer/salt supply and application pricing. A company office within 50 miles of the Champaign city limits is required, and the selected contractor must maintain a 24-hour means of receiving service notices. The contract term is October 15, 2026, through September 30, 2027.
