Description
The Village of Oak Park is soliciting bids for annual preventative maintenance and load-bank testing for three Village-owned diesel generators: a stationary Caterpillar unit at the Central Pumping Station and mobile and stationary units associated with the Public Works Center. Preventative maintenance includes inspection and servicing of the generators’ mechanical, fuel, cooling, battery, electrical, control-panel, transfer-switch, and engine systems; oil and coolant analysis; replacement of filters; and a minimum two-hour load-bank test at 100% load capacity. The contractor must use original-equipment-manufacturer parts unless otherwise approved and provide service reports with laboratory results and recommended repairs. The contract also includes fixed hourly rates for planned and emergency repairs, emergency response, mileage, parts markup, preventative maintenance, and load-bank testing. The contractor must respond promptly to service requests, provide written estimates before authorized repairs, and perform emergency work as required, including outside regular business hours. Work is subject to prevailing-wage requirements, applicable safety laws, and the stated insurance and reporting obligations. Bidders must provide at least three municipal references for similar projects completed within the last two years and complete the required bid and certification materials.
